Northwell Health’s (formerly known as North Shore LIJ) CareConnect Insurance Company has released their 2017 individual market health plan prices for calendar year 2017. These insurance policies and rates have been approved by the New York State Department of Financial Services, and can be found here:
CareConnect – 2017 Individual Rates
The prices contained in the attachment above represent non-subsidized rates. Meaning, they do not take into account any tax credits one may be receiving as part of enrolling in coverage through the NYSOH Marketplace exchange website.
Unlike in previous years, CareConnect will now have only one rate territory for all downstate New York residents. In prior years, CareConnect had two rating territories…one for Long Island, and one for the five boroughs of New York City/Westchester County.
CareConnect is one of three remaining downstate NY individual market carriers that will be working with brokers (Oscar and Fidelis Care being the other two). Effective January 1st 2017, the remaining NY individual market carriers will have either terminated their contracts with insurance broker professionals, or will be exiting the market entirely. These carriers include:
-Oxford: exiting the market
-United Healthcare (excluding Medicaid/Essential Plan): exiting the market
-Empire: no longer working with brokers
-Emblem: no longer working with brokers
-Affinity: never worked with brokers
-HealthFirst: never worked with brokers
-MetroPlus: never worked with brokers
